onna //

bio

And there you are - all roads starting from here lead to the expression of o n n a’s complex emotional world, an almost limitless sphere that she lets fly in her music: seemingly intangible feelings turning into songs.

'onna' means woman in Japanese, written with one n "she" in Polish and is reminiscent of her real name Anna.

For the German based singer and songwriter, music is the cure - the release.

Born in Warsaw into a musical family, she was raised in Germany, followed by stations in Switzerland.

o n n a expresses herself in an essential sense including everything ever experienced, in the true sense of the meaning.

Inspired by different genres from alternative indie crossing contemporary electronic pop, folk, trip hop, spoken word and more, her blend of haunting melodies, deeply dark calming voice, acoustic elements, synthesized backdrops and classical motifs, are forming a remarkable single unit.

o n n a’s calming, deep vocal tone makes her music memorable, at the same time not necessarily fitting into a certain category while she grows and thrives, sets out to new horizons with each of her newly written lyrics, poetry and released songs.

New music is coming soon: o n n a is currently working on some projects in self-production.

Gonna sing you a lullaby, hope it helps

There’s a large voice screaming out

Coming out of hell

A white veil spilling out

Now I can see

your face

and everything I don’t believe

It’s been unscrewed

Unfolded like a butterfly out of its cocoon,

the years came by

They‘ll have to explain

In a suitable way

why their perspective changed

only the other day

Mmh, I‘m not gonna cry

for help

I‘m gonna make it

All by myself

Mmh in the silence

In the silence of it all

In the silence of it all

Frail old man, where have you been

In case my dreams died

I keep wandering

Accompanied by

the time went by

I leave my old shoes

In the corner of my eye

It’s been unscrewed

Unfolded like a butterfly out of its cocoon,

the years came by

They‘ll have to explain

In a suitable way

why their perspective changed

only the other day

Mmh, I‘m not gonna cry

for help

I‘m gonna make it

All by myself

Mmh in the silence

In the silence of it all

In the silence of it all

(spoken:)

Frail old man, where have you been

In case my dreams died

I keep wandering

Accompanied by

the time went by

I leave my old shoes

In the corner of my eye

It’s been unscrewed

in the silence

In the silence

In the silence

in the silence

about

Zeitgeist is a calming loop of inner thoughts and feelings about time - the lack of time, the changes we go through while time passes, the people we loose on our way - and finally about ourselves and our mental health we try to find on that way.

Repeat it over and over again: I‘m gonna make it all by myself. In the true sense of the meaning the cover art is the perfect companion for zeitgeist as it’s a drawing arisen over months, dealing with release, perception and personal development.
